Glad you like the positive take on the new blog. The traditional route to a large audience is to post an attention grabbing rant or to be continuously bombastic. Lucky for me, I am not doing this blog to build an audience. I have the company and product blogs as traffic builders. Their posts do fairly well at SEO and driving interest to Synap Software and our products. This one is just for my personal writing.

But keeping the tone positive does not mean I won't be opinionated. If there's something out there that is completely off-base - I will call it out, explain why it's messed-up, and propose a better alternative.

Scott - I like the positive tone of your new blog. I can really relate to this post, since I have perfectionist tendencies myself and find it easy to say "no" when I'm working exclusively on a project. However, this often puts me in a rut, which lowers my productivity. I find that saying "yes" to some outside opportunities can really change my perspective, and the break allows me to return to a project with fresh eyes and enthusiasm.

Good luck saying "yes" - and thanks for the reminder to do so more often myself!
